Vera M. Yoder, 94, of Grantsville, MD, was born near Meyersdale, PA, to the late Ervin J. and Mabel (Miller) Yoder on February 1, 1928. In her youth she accepted the Lord as Savior and was baptized into the fellowship of Maple Glen Conservative Fellowship in which faith she died on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland, MD. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark; two brothers, Paul and Creed Yoder and one sister, Nona Hartsburg.

On March 27, 1949, she was united in marriage to Clark A. Yoder, son of the late Alvin H. and Martha (Maust) Yoder. Surviving are four sons, Kenneth Ervin (Rhoda Metzler) Yoder, Chambersburg, PA, Robert Wayne (Glenda Bender) Yoder and Richard Dale (Eileen Maust) Yoder, all of Salisbury, Ronald Lynn (Joyce Lapp) Yoder, Dover, DE; two brothers, Lee “Bud” Yoder, Grantsville, MD, David Yoder, Cumberland; 10 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

For most of her life, she worked on the farm with her husband and sons. She taught Sunday school and Bible school; music was her lifetime passion.

Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller Street, Grantsville, MD, on Sunday, July 10, 2022, from 6-8 pm. Friends may also call at Maple Glen Mennonite Church from 9:30 – 10:30 am, on Monday, July 11, 2022 . Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Church following the burial at 11:00 am, with Pastor Tim Yoder officiating.
