Obituary for Vaughn Veryl Winters
Vaughn Veryl Winters, 71, of Oakland, MD, passed on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at his home.
Born April 30, 1952 in Oakland, he was the son of the late Harvey J. and Wilda K. (Weimer) Winters. He was also preceded in death by one son, Robert V. “Bobby” Winters; one brother, Harvey J. “Sonny” Winters, Jr.; and one son-in-law, Randy E. Bernard.
Vaughn was a self-employed construction worker and enjoyed hanging out in the pool and traveling to beaches in Mexico. He loved motorcycles and his dog, Harley.
He is survived by two daughters, Elisa M. Bernard and Suzette M. Merrick & Jerry; one sister, Patricia Light; six grandchildren, Mikaela Bernard, Marley Sisler & Casey, Brycen Bernard, Brady Merrick, Rylee Bernard, and Mason Merrick; one nephew, Rich Winters; and three nieces, Wendy Glotfelty, Natalie Vetter, and Tanya Sell.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, MD 21550, on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Vaughn will be cremated. There will be a gathering for family and friends, after the viewing, at Vaughn's home.
