Obituary for Tammy Sue Merrbach (Bittinger)
Tammy Sue Merrbach, 56, of Grantsville, MD, died Saturday, December 3, 2022, at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland, MD.
Born January 14, 1966, in Frostburg, MD, she was the daughter of Homer Lee and Dorothy Catherine (Fisher) Bittinger, Grantsville. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Amanda Marie Merrbach and one brother, Gary Dane Bittinger.
Tammy was a former foster parent at Pressley Ridge of Western Maryland and a member of God’s Ark of Safety, Frostburg. She had a great passion for rescuing animals and caring for children. She loved her nieces and nephews with all her heart.
Along with her parents, she is survived by one sister, Donna Durst; niece, Crystal Lavin; three great-nieces and 1 great-nephew, Aleesha Marchayla, Harmonie and Jackie; one cousin, Barbara Livengood and her children, Rachel and Matt; and many other family members.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Everett Spence officiating. Cremation will follow services.
