Obituary for Shirley Mae Sherburne (Meathena)
Shirley Mae Sherburne, 86, of Grantsville, MD, died Sunday, December 18, 2022, at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland, MD.
Born June 23, 1936, in West Virginia, she was the daughter of Raymond and Inez Meathena. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ludwig Sherburne, Sr.; two sons, Carlos Edward Sherburne and Edward Sherburne.
Mrs. Sherburne was a restaurant bartender.
She is survived by two sons, Carl L. Sherburne, Jr., Grantsville; Clayton C. Sherburne, Baltimore, MD; one brother, Daniel Meathena, Baltimore; four grandchildren, Carl, Carlos, Justin and Dawson.
At her request, she will be cremated and a graveside service will be held at a later date in Baltimore at the Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
