Obituary for Salvatore Joseph Messina Sr.
Salvatore Joseph Messina, Sr., 79, of Grantsville, MD, died Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland, MD.
Born November 28, 1943, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Carmella Messina. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Carol (Scanlon) Messina; one brother, Paul A. Messina; and one sister, Catherine Messina.
Mr. Messina was a bus mechanic for MTA.
He is survived by one son, Salvatore Messina, Jr.; three daughters, Michele (Joe) Drgos, Valerie (Brooks) Arnold and April Messina; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
At his request he will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
