Obituary for Roy Roger Butler
Roy Roger Butler, 76, of Rose Hill, VA, and formerly of Fort Hill, PA, died Saturday, February 18, 2023, at his home.
Born November 8, 1946, in Listonburg, PA, he was the son of the late Freeman and Elsie (Platter) Butler. He was preceded in death by a son, Roy Lee Butler; six brothers, Stewart F. Butler, Charles S. Butler, Hugh E. Butler, Jack E. Butler, Ralph A. Butler and James V. Butler and two sisters, Florence J. Rugg and Leona M. Butler.
Roy was a retired mechanic in the Engineering Department at Fair Oaks Hospital, Fairfax, VA and was a member of Maple Glen Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife, Oma Mae (Wright) Butler, one son, Roger L. Butler, Blanchard, PA; two step daughters, Trina Davis, Somerset, KY and Glada Rigger, Springs, PA; two brothers, Alvie R. Butler, Georgia and Glenn O. Butler, Fort Hill; three sisters, Freda M. Edmonson, Ohio, Shirley A. Beitzel and D. Jean Hutzel, both of Grantsville, MD; nine step grandchildren and five step great grandsons.
A Graveside Service will be held at Maple Glen Cemetery, Fort Hill, PA, on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 3:00 pm, with Pastor Galen Beitzel officiating. Interment will follow.
