Obituary for Pauline Marcella Handwerk (Bittinger)
Pauline Marcella Handwerk, 88, of Grantsville, MD, died Monday, May 1, 2023, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.
Born March 23, 1935, in Jennings, MD, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Nora Lucille (Wilt) Bittinger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Emmons Eugene Handwerk; four brothers, Robert Bittinger, Lloyd Bittinger, Jr., Marshall Emmons Bittinger and Wilbert Bittinger; three sisters, Beulah Ross, Leora Shaffer and Alice Kaiser.
Mrs. Handwerk was a homemaker and a member of the Jennings United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, Emmons Handwerk, Jr., Grantsville; a special niece, Crystal Bittinger, Hagerstown, MD, whom she raised after her parents death; four grandchildren, Clayton, Jaylin, Joseph and Kevin.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Thursday, May 4, 2023, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Hinkle officiating. Interment will be in the Bittinger Cemetery.
