Norman Monroe Yoder, 94, of Grantsville, MD, died Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at his residence.
Born July 31, 1928, in St. Paul, PA, he was the son of the late Monroe and Amelia (Yoder) Yoder. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Naomi (Yoder) Yoder, on October 9, 2019; three brothers, Ray, Floyd and Olen Yoder; two sisters, Elizabeth Beitzel and Alta Bender.
Mr. Yoder was a truck driver for Kaiser Refractories, Oester Trucking and Yoder Meat Packers. He was a member of the Springs Mennonite Church and a 50+ year member of the Grantsville Vol. Fire Dept., where he was the longest serving and living member.
He is survived by three daughters, Carol S. (Tim) Beachy, Waynesboro, PA; Shirley R. (Larry) Konz, Durango, CO; Linda R. (Lester) Page, Manteo, NC; four grandchildren, Valerie Winchester, Joe Huber, Dallas Huber and Rita Tinsley; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Sunday, August 28, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Springs Mennonite Church on Monday, August 29, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John Verburg officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Springs Cemetery.
