Obituary for Mona Jean Howe (Michael)
Mona Jean (Michael) Howe, 92, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022, peacefully at The Kensington, Cumberland.
Born June 22, 1929, in Westernport, MD, she was the daughter of the late Howard C. and Eloise (Dolan) Michael. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles Howe, whom she married in 1952.
Mona graduated from Bruce High School class of 1947. Upon graduation, she worked for the Department of Navy in Washington D.C. until her marriage. Mona, Charles and their family, traveled extensively having lived stateside and in several countries.
Surviving are her son, Michael Howe and wife, Deborah; daughters, Joyce Hill and husband, Steve; Kathy Fike and husband, Harold; and Linda Howe; grandchildren, Matthew Howe and wife, Mary Katherine; Joshua Howe; Shannon McClendon and husband, Wesley; Sara Howe and Dean Andrejevic; Samantha Page and husband, Adam; Harry Fike and wife, Erin; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Thomas Howe; Mackenzie McClendon; Kadence, Audriana, Naudia, and Amelia Page; Evelyn, Graham and Miles Fike; brother, Wayne Michael and wife, Helen; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caring staff of The Kensington for their loving care of our mother and Hospice of Allegany County and other caregivers who assisted in this time of need.
Family and friends will be received at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 930 Frederick Street, Cumberland, on Friday, May 13, 2022, from 1 to 3 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following with Pastor Adam Page officiating.
