Obituary for Mildred Elsie Reynolds (Goodnight)
Mildred Elsie (Goodnight) Reynolds, 103, died Thursday, February 2, 2023, in Aptos, CA, at the home of her daughter, Patricia, whom she had resided with for several years.
Born July 13, 1919, in Pittsburgh, PA, Mildred was the daughter of John C. and Rose (Muzio) Goodnight. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas O. Reynolds and her eight siblings.
Mildred and Thomas raised their children in the Pittsburgh area before relocating to Oakland, MD in 1996. They later settled fulltime into their beloved farmhouse on the shore of the Youghiogheny Lake near Friendsville, MD, which had provided cherished childhood memories for three more generations.
Mildred was an inspiration to many, with an eternally-youthful outlook on life, with a fondness for extensive travel, adventure, reading, gardening, cooking, home projects, boating, entertaining and exercise.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Patricia L. Reynolds and sons, Thomas O. Reynolds and Richard A. Reynolds, along with grandchildren, Thomas W. Reynolds, James K. Reynolds, Cassandra L. Fesko, D. Sean Reynolds, L. Heather Reynolds, Kimberly Kuhn, Richard S. Reynolds and Colin J. Reynolds and additionally, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She maintained an active interest in the lives of all of her grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held Friday, February 17, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Butler, PA.
