Obituary for Marvette Ruth Hollada (Tressler)
Marvette Ruth Hollada, 87, of Salisbury, PA passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, at UPMC Somerset Hospital, Somerset, PA.
Born February 27, 1935, in Elk Lick Twp., PA, she was the daughter of the late Resley and Florence (Briskey) Tressler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl “Ken” Hollada; infant daughter, Sallie Mae Hollada; eight brothers, Resley, Jr., Duane, Brad, Marvin “Chuck”, Mark, Abraham, Jackie and Donald Tressler; four sisters, Violet Hovatter, Beulah Maust, Evelyn Doerr and Rita Hollada.
Marvette was a tax collector for Elk Lick Township for many years and had also worked for Gear Works Factory. She enjoyed playing cards, camping, bowling and visiting with friends and family. She was a member of the Springs Mennonite Church.
She is survived by two sons, Richard (Joni) Hollada, Salisbury, PA; Ed (Cherl) Hollada, Statesville, NC; one daughter, Gwen (Craig) Baer, Fort Hill, PA; five grandchildren, Kelli Bolden, Tiffany Perez, Ashley Good, Carl Hollada and Brandon Hollada; six great-grandchildren, Marisa Perez, Cooper Bolden, Camila Hollada, Elena Hollada, Lincoln Good and Harper Hollada.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, MD, on Monday, January 2, 2023, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Verburg officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Glen Cemetery, Fort Hill.
