Obituary for Margaret Ann Stewart
Margaret Ann Stewart, 90, passed away on May 5, 2023. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 7, 1933 to the late Joseph and Anna Heibert. Peggy was the married to the late William "Bill" Stewart.
Peggy owned and operated the Cellar Door Bar and Restaurant with her husband Bill. She went on to work as a cook for the Point View Inn and retired from the Candy Store in Point View. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially making pies, and loved to paint ceramics. Peggy was an animal lover, but especially loved her dogs.
Margaret is survived by her sons; Tom A. Stewart and his wife, Kathy of West Mifflin, PA, and James Stewart, and his wife, Angie of Swanton, MD; sister, Mickey Stofey and her husband, Bill of Cleveland, OH; 6 loving grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her son, William Stewart, daughters, Sandra Stewart and Connie Stewart, brother, Joseph Heibert and sister, Patricia Riley.
Friends are welcome to call on Thursday, May 11th from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, MD, 21550. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm, with interment immediately following in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
