Obituary for Linda Lee Fleming Glotfelty (Teets)

Linda Lee (Teets) Fleming Glotfelty, 79, of Swanton, MD, passed away on November 15, 2022 at 9:09pm in her home, surrounded by her family.

Born, July 2, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Orval and Mareva Teets. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Albert John Fleming.

Linda was an educational leader as a teacher and administrator from 1975-2003. Throughout her life, she served as a Christian leader in various capacities, including pastoral ministries, worship and song ministries, missionary work, teaching ministries, and youth and children ministries. Linda founded Camp Agape and Camp Serenity, which impacted hundreds for Christ. She was a lifetime member of Girl Scouts of America and also received the honor of being named the Woman of the Year of Garrett County.

She is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Pastor Melvin Ross Glotfelty; four children Lucinda Davis (Steve) of Points, WV; Lawre Virts (Randy) of Swanton, MD; Lissa Bush (David) of Orlando, FL; and Albert John “A.J.“ Fleming, II (April) Swanton; one sister, Christina Riley (Rob) of Swanton; two brothers-in-law, Harry Richard Gerlach of Oakland, and James Fleming of Frostburg. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many other loved ones.

Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A. 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, MD 21550, on Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 2:00pm-7:00pm. A service will be held at Swanton Otterbein United Methodist Church, 3443 Swanton Road, Swanton, MD 21561, on Friday, November 18, 2022, at 11:00am with Pastor David Bush officiating. A private family interment will be held at Swanton Otterbein Cemetery.
