Juanita Lou (Allman) Bosley, 92, of Oakland, MD, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.

Born June 15, 1929, in Jeannette, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Bonnie (Nangle) Allman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth V. Bosley, who passed away in 1999 and her brother, Neale Allman.

In early childhood, Juanita moved to Jane Lew, WV and later to Baltimore, MD where she graduated from Patterson Park High School in 1947. She married Kenneth V. Bosley on October 21,1949. They lived in Baltimore until 1959 and moved to Backbone Mt. Rt. 50 in Garrett County, MD, with their four sons and later had a daughter in 1961. Juanita owned and operated Little Super Market, Backbone Service Station, Backbone Mt. Inn, and Maryland Motel. In addition to proprietorship, she worked as Postmaster in Gormania, WV. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Oakland. Juanita was Past Matron and held several other offices in Oakland Chapter #67, Rowlesburg Chapter #127, and Davis Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. In 2000, she moved to Southern Pines in Oakland. She was a volunteer for the Lohr Auxillary at Garrett Memorial Hospital. Juanita was a Southern Garrett sports fan where her sons all played and coached as well as all of her grandchildren with one now coaching. She was a Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan. Juanita enjoyed knitting, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, and picnics on the mountain and loved music.

She is survived by four sons, Dave Bosley and wife, Lu-Jean; Tom Bosley; Jim Bosley and wife, Mary Lynn; Danny Bosley and wife, Angie; one daughter, Gale Bosley, all of Oakland; nine grandchildren, Nicole, Jamie, Jennifer, Cory, Torie, Emillee, Sydney, Kambrie, and Sierra; seven great grandchildren, Taylor, Cannon, Oakleigh, Brixen, Harlee, Kees, and Rowan.

Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, MD, 21550 on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Matthew Paugh officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Masks are preferred. Due to COVID, no reception will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held this summer at her favorite place, the cabin on the mountain. Interment will be at the Pope Cemetery, in Oakland.

Oakland Chapter #67, Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service on Tuesday at 5:45 pm in the funeral home.
