Obituary for John Edward Wilson Sr.
John Edward Wilson, Sr., 80, of Aurora, WV, died Friday, January 6, 2023, at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland, MD.
Born August 22, 1942, in Oakland, he was the son of the late John Montgomery and Lucille E. (Glaze) Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Jane Moats; a brother, Monty Owen Wilson; a sister, Delores Jean Fafrak and one grandchild.
Mr. Wilson was a retired maintenance supervisor for Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Oakland and was a lifetime member of the Oakland Elks.
Surviving are four sons, John E. (Theresa) Wilson, Jr., Hutton, MD, James A. (Pinky) Metz, Norfolk, VA, Justin O Wilson, Oakland, Matthew J. Patton, Aurora; three daughters, Jeanette Pruitt, Shallmar, MD, Stephanie D. (Curtis) Bowman and Andrea M. Patton, both of Oakland; one sister, Frances E. (Mark) Yanta, LaVale, MD; 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, on Monday, January 9, 2023, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
