Obituary for Jennifer Lynn "Jenni" Bodes (Bowser)
Jennifer Lynn (Bowser) Bodes, 49, of Meyersdale, PA, better known as “Jenni,” died Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, PA.
Born October 18, 1972, in York, PA, she was the daughter of Richard and Doris (Wellbrock) Bowser of Grantsville, MD.
Jenni was a social worker for Archway Station, Cumberland, MD and was also the Elk Lick Township Tax Collector. Jen graduated from Northern Garrett High School in 1990. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Frostburg State University in 1994 and was a member of the Springs Mennonite Church.
Along with her parents, she is also survived by her loving husband, Thomas Edward Bodes; one son, Nathan Bodes, Meyersdale; one daughter, Hannah (Harvey) Hershberger, Rockwood, PA; two brothers, Andrew (Stephanie) Bowser, Grantsville; Ryan (Erika) Bowser, Reading, PA; three sisters, Suzie Bowser, Portland, OR; Laura Miller, Grantsville; Amanda (John) Wass, Addison; mother-in-law, Pat Bodes, Meyersdale; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jenni was a one of a kind person who positively touched every person she encountered. She always had a smile on her face and helped anyone who needed it. She made this world a better place and brightened the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. The memories of her will last a lifetime, ones filled with love and laughter.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miler St., Grantsville, on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 10-11 a.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Eric Haglund officiating. Cremation will follow services.
