Obituary for Janet Diane Merrbach (Brocht)
Janet Diane Merrbach, 68, of Grantsville, MD, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland, MD.
Born January 11, 1955, in Meyersdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Bessie (Atchison) Brocht. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie and Stanley Brocht; and one sister, Mary.
Mrs. Merrbach was a baker for 19 ½ years at the Casselman Restaurant and a member of the Red Run Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Oscar L. Merrbach; her two wonderful children, Sharon (Matt) Winebrenner, Lonaconing, MD; Mark Merrbach, Frostburg, MD; one grandson, Justin Winebrenner, Lonaconing; one great-grandson, Matthew Winebrenner, LaVale, MD; one sister, Lynn Portello; two brothers, Roy (Elva) Brocht and Paul (Donna) Brocht.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and would also like to thank the nursing staff at UPMC Western Maryland for their loving care for Janet.
At her request, she will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
