Obituary for James Edward Weimer

James Edward Weimer, 91, of Avilton, MD, died Friday, September 30, 2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.

Born December 8, 1930, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Ambrose and Olive (Wilhelm) Weimer. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Rita Rafferty, Carolyn Broadwater and Joyce Laus.

Jim was a retired brick setter for Harbison-Walker Refractories, Grantsville. He was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving is his wife, Janice Eileen (Jeffries) Weimer; three daughters, Jeannie Marie (Frank Wilt) Weimer, Grantsville, Jacqueline Elizabeth (Michael) Tichnell, Swanton, MD, Joann Ellen (Keith) Weimer, Salisbury, PA; one brother, Francis Weimer, Swanton; six sisters, Eleanor Colmer, Barton, Donna Glotfelty, Grantsville, Virginia Miller, Avilton, Lousie Ohler, Springs, Catherine Baer, Salisbury, Helen Mardis, Rockwood; seven grandchildren, Richard James Swauger, Margaret Lynn Wilt, Candace Sue Swauger, James Lee Swauger, Joshua Clinton Nicol, Thomas Lester Savage, Jr., Victoria Rose Wilt and seven great-grandchildren, Mason, Lincoln, Kane, Aryanna, Noah, Lilly and Alex.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville on Tuesday 4-6 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 11 am, with Pastor Larry Tichnell officiating. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Avilton.
