Obituary for Helena Mae Crowe (Wiland)
Helena Mae Crowe, 89, of Stephenson, MI, died Sunday, January 22, 2023, at her residence.
Born July 29, 1933, in Garrett Co., MD, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Lucy (Martin) Wiland. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J. Willard Crowe; one son, Roger Wiland; three brothers, James, Robert and Paul Wiland; three sisters, Hazel Rounds, Pearl Wampler and Shirley Perdew.
Mrs. Crowe worked in the cafeteria at Frostburg State University and also at the former Beall High School. She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Eastern Garrett Vol. Fire Department Auxiliary. She loved taking care of children, babysitting and working the bake sales.
She is survived by two daughters, Gloria (Ron) Beitzel, Accident, MD; Lori (Eric) Tickler, Stephenson; 12 grandchildren, Connie (Junior) Guthrie, Richard (Tammara) Wiland, Candy Wiland, Bonnie Ann Wiland, Jason Beitzel, Brian Beitzel, Eric (Stephanie) Beitzel, Alex Beitzel, Stephanie (Josh) Forgette, Jessica (Logan) Erickson, Will Pfeiffer and Reece Tickler; 10 great-grandchildren, Sami Wiland, Jeremiah and Kayla Guthrie, Landen and Hunter Beitzel, Beau and Brinley Beitzel, Brayden and Parker Forgette, and Emma Lynn Erickson; 1 great-great grandchild.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, MD, on Monday, January 30, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Interment will be in the New Germany Methodist Cemetery, Grantsville.
