Obituary for Gloria Fay Reckner (Bowser)
Gloria Fay Reckner, 89, of Salisbury, PA, died Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Henry Clay Villa, Markleysburg, PA.
Born September 7, 1933, in Grantsville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Reba (Smith) Bowser. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William H. Reckner, January 22, 1993; three brothers, Merle, Ernest and Charles Bowser; three sisters, Twila George, Freda Reichenbecher and Edith Yommer; one son-in-law, Charles Gartner.
Mrs. Reckner was a supervisor for Fechheimer Manufacturing and a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Walker-Harris Post 8826, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by one son, William J. (Lisa) Reckner, Boynton, PA; one daughter, Susan K. Gartner, Dunedin, FL; one sister, Donna Walker, FL; one grandson, William K. (Christine) Reckner; one great-granddaughter, Kiley Reckner.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy., Salisbury, on Monday, December 26, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Diane Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Salisbury Cemetery.
