Obituary for Glenn Eugene Roth
Glenn Eugene Roth (Gene) of Oakland, MD, passed away on Thursday, December 1st, 2022. Born April 28, 1947 in Oakland, MD, Gene was preceded in death by both his parents, Howard Calvin Roth and Glenna Merle (Friend) Roth, both of Oakland, MD, and a nephew, Howard V. Sisler of Friendsville, MD.
Gene is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara (Deem) Roth; four daughters, Tresa Clements (William), Glenna Guthrie (Norman), Terrie Roth (Joe Schroyer), and Jeany Blamble (Chuck); one brother, Terry Roth; three sisters, Wanda Sisler (Dave), Judy Whiteman, and Linda Cooper; three grandchildren, Jeremy Guthrie, Myka Guthrie, and Alyssa Bradshaw; and six great grandchildren. Gene also had a very special niece Missy Bowman and two special nephews Carl Cooper and J.R. Bowman whom he considered as his own children, along with many other nieces and nephews.
Gene worked for Harvey Brothers Farms, the Wisp Resort, and Carnation Milk Company. Gene loved spending time with his family and friends and joking around with everyone. Gene loved going to McDonalds in Oakland, MD and drinking coffee and talking to his many friends. He also enjoyed attending church services and being a greeter. He enjoyed collecting and receiving gifts of John Deere memorabilia all his life. He was an animal lover and had many special dogs and cats. His favorite animal was his cat Wilbur.
Family and friends will be paying their respects at Newman Funeral Home at 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, MD, 21550, on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel on December 8, 2022, at 11:00am, with Pastor Sam Moon officiating. Interment will be at Deer Park Cemetery.
The Family asks that expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers be made to Newman's Funeral Home in Oakland, MD towards the funeral expense fund.
