Obituary for Gertrude Elizabeth Wilburn (Hare)
Gertrude Elizabeth Wilburn, 80, of Grantsville, MD, died Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Meyersdale Health and Rehabilitation, Meyersdale, PA.
Born December 12, 1940, Bittinger, MD, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Edith Teresa (Snyder) Hare. She was also preceded in death by one son, Irvin Hare and one daughter, Ruth Wilburn.
Ms. Wilburn was a homemaker and an active with the Salvation Army. She was a member of the Red Run Mennonite Church.
She is survived by three sons, Reno (adopted name, Todd Appel) Hare and his companion, Sally; Philip Wilburn and wife, Brynda; Robert Wilburn and wife, Linda; four daughters, Catherine Wilburn and husband, Rich Fazenbaker; Vivian Wilburn; Lily Wilburn and companion, Bill; Marlene Wilburn; Angela Platter and husband, Scott; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Merle Durst officiating. Interment will be in the Wilburn Family Cemetery.
