Obituary for Gerald Clinton Broadwater
Gerald Clinton Broadwater, 77, of Lonaconing, MD, died Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at his sisters residence in Vandergrift, PA.
Born December 21, 1944, in Avilton, MD, he was the son of the late Marshall Henry and Mary Thelma (Wilhelm) Broadwater. He was also preceded in death by three sons, Scott “Polish” Broadwater, Edward Lee Broadwater and Michael Paul Broadwater.
Mr. Broadwater was a heavy equipment operator with the Garrett County Roads Department. He was a member of the Lonaconing Republican Club, Barton Gun Club, Westernport Redmen’s Club and loved gardening.
He is survived by three sons, Gerald Broadwater, Jr., Grantsville, MD; Ricky Allen (Michelle) Broadwater, Cumberland, MD; Nathan Lee (Samantha) Broadwater, Grantsville; two daughter, Jerri Ann (Todd) Thrasher, Midland, MD; Lisa McClintock, Grantsville; two sisters, Martha (Charlie) Rosenberger, Finzel, MD; Mary (Jim) McGuire, Vandergrift, PA; seven grandchildren, Julie, Garrett, Mia, Tyler, Logan, Austin and Jason (Megan); one great-grandson, Colt; four nieces and nephews, Brian Rosenberger, Patricia Powers, George (Lisa) Fallon and Rhonda (Terry) Hamilton; three great-nieces and nephews, Jacob and Alexis Fallon; Jason (Kasey) Labor.
The family would like to thank special neighbors, Dave and Joann Wilson, Colin Hartman and Joe Spiker.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Monday, August 15, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating. Interment will be in the Blocher Cemetery.
