He enjoyed working on the farm with his grandson, Johnny and sidekick, Duke. He also enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and, most importantly, spending time with his family. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch listening to the cows, and the famous “Jimmy,” the Donkey as well as spending time with his furry companions Meow Meow and Duke.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Lloyd Skeweris; two daughters, Angie Dixon and Nathan of Oakland, MD; Tina Judy and Ben of Gormania, WV; one son, Jack Funkhouser and Jackie of Oakland; eight grandchildren, Allen Funkhouser and Tawny of St. Louis, MO; Johnny Funkhouser and fiancé, Brianna LeMay; Zach Pritts; Cambria Snyder and boyfriend Garrett Kolb, all of Oakland; Haley Judy of Gormania; Wyatt Funkhouser of Oakland; Brianna Dixon and boyfriend, James Ptomey, both of McHenry; and Kelcie Dixon of Oakland; two brothers, Denny Skeweris and Anna of Oakland; and Tom Skeweris and Michele of Edinburg, PA; one sister-in-law, Becky Paugh and Bobby of Kitzmiller, MD; one brother-in-law, Butch Lloyd and Melanie of Bayard, WV; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. A special thanks to all of Gary’s coal mining buddies who were there during his difficult times.
