Obituary for Forrest Lee Blamble

Beloved Father: Forrest Lee Blamble, 74, of Oakland, MD, died Monday October 25, 2021. Born October 8, 1947 in West Virginia, Forrest was the son of the late John and Velva (Sisler) Blamble. Forrest was preceded in death by his father, John, mother, Velva and brother, Ronald Blamble.

Forrest is survived by his sister Nancy Bennett, sister Cheryl Angle, brother Kevin Blamble. He is also survived by his two daughters with ex-wife Wanda Houser, Deborah Anne (Blamble) McCue of Houston, TX and Susan Gayle (Blamble) Hasenfus of Lillington, NC. Forrest has 5 grandchildren, whom he enjoyed laughing at hearing their antics as told by his daughters. He loved receiving hand drawn pictures from his grandchildren to which he proudly displayed on his refrigerator for sometimes years! He would write letters to his grandchildren who attended summer camp. He loved to read, making weekly trips to the library and always without fail getting the Thursday weekly local Republican newspaper. He enjoyed watching action movies and had many favorite tv shows. He kept organized files of the books he read, movies he watched and ones he wanted to read and see.

Forrest served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War as an electrician working on aircraft stationed in Thailand. After his time in the Air Force, Forrest worked many jobs including in the coal mines, the former Bausch and Lomb plant, Southern States, dairy farming and even as a security guard. He was well skilled in construction, welding, electrical and automotive work. Because of this, Forrest’s daughters frequently sought his advice on many things over the years. He nearly always had a solution for any problem they may inquire about. Forrest was loyal to a T and would do anything for his daughters and grandchildren. He never missed sending a card for a birthday. He was well organized, detailed and frugal - always finding a reuse for anything. He made sure to instill in his children the difference between a “need” and a “want”.

Forrest in a nutshell just lived life simply. He knew what he liked and how he wanted to live and that was that. Forrest was an amazing man to learn from, was admired and loved very much by his daughters, and is gone too soon. Your family will miss you every day.

Per Forrest’s wishes, he will be cremated with no public service. Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, MD, 21550, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
