Obituary for Esther Patricia "Pat" Miller (O'Donnell)
Esther Patricia Miller, 91, of Grantsville, MD, died Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.
Born August 17, 1931, in Boynton, PA, she was the daughter of the late William Joseph and Margaret Pearle (Clites) O’Donnell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lee Merle Miller, on January 1, 2006; one infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth Miller; one brother, John William “Buck” O’Donnell; and one son-in-law, Keith Thomas Bittner.
Mrs. Miller was a registered nurse working for Meyersdale Hospital and Meyersdale Family Health Care. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, where she served as an Elder, Deacon and many other church committees. Pat enjoyed taking bus trips with “Circle of Friends” group, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by one son, Glenn (Tammy) Miller, Springs, PA; two daughters, Debra Bittner, Grantsville; Cheryl (Vernon) Lohr, Friedens, PA; seven grandchildren, Christopher (Stephanie) Bittner, Courtney (Alfredo) Bittner; Jessi (David) Ditzler, Mitchell (Melinda) Lohr, Carrie (Riley) Sines, Wendy (boyfriend, Tyler Hetz) Brenneman and Jennifer (Brian) Robison; 13 great-grandchildren, Casey, Savannah and Christiana Bittner; Isabel and Anderson Cairero; Kolten and Eva Lohr; Callie and Braden Ditzler; Katlyn and Hunter Sines; Easton and Paisley Brenneman; former grandson-in-law, Trey Brenneman.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy., Salisbury, PA, on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Diane Smith officiating. A meal will be held at the Springs Mennonite Church following the funeral service. A private interment will take place in the Salisbury Cemetery.
