Obituary for Ellie B. Bender (Yoder)
Ellie B. (Yoder) Bender, 84, of Salisbury, PA, died Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at her residence.
Born February 24, 1939, in Belleville, PA, she was the daughter of the late David and Barbara (Peachey) Yoder. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Katie (Bender) Yoder; two sisters, three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bender was a homemaker and operated a kennel for breeding dogs.
She is survived by her husband, Harvey G. Bender; children, Barbara Ann (Olen Peachey), Jamestown, PA; Edna (John L. Yoder), Salisbury; Leah, Jamestown; David (Phoebe Hostetler), Meyersdale, PA; Susan (Andrew Beiler), Meyersdale; Samuel (Freda Yoder), Meyersdale; Elijah (Melinda Yoder), Oakland, MD; Daniel (Deborah Graber), Pittsford, MI; Isaiah (Rosa Graber), Osseo, MI; son-in-law, Clarence (Effie Peachey) Yoder, Salisbury; step-mother, Amanda (Zook) (Bender) Summy, Grantsville, MD; 50 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the home, 178 Shoemaker Hill Rd., Salisbury, all day Thursday and Friday. Funeral services will be conducted in the Niverton Amish Church on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. (EST), with Bishop Paul S. Yoder officiating. Interment will be in the Niverton Amish Cemetery.
