Obituary for Eleanor Jean Hochard (Bluebaugh)
Eleanor Jean (Bluebaugh) Hochard, 92, of Meyersdale, PA, died Monday, February 6, 2023, at her residence.
Born March 9, 1930, in Coal Run, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry Ford and Ruth Amelia (Miller) Bluebaugh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Albert Hochard; son-in-law, William Lytle; three brothers and three sisters.
Eleanor graduated with her LPN, working 4 years for Hazel McGilvery Hospital, then 20 years at Meyersdale Hospital and then for 27 years with Meyersdale Family Health Care until 1992. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Wilhelm Church, where she served on many of the committees. Eleanor enjoyed traveling, especially the beach trips with her family. She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate fan, reader, doer of crossword puzzles and loved her dogs.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Ringler and Karen Lytle, both of Meyersdale; four grandchildren, Brian (Tracie) Ringler, Morgantown, WV; Bethany (Brandon) Milford, Cary, NC; Breanna (Aaron) Bowlen, Ft. Humpherys, Korea; Casey Lytle, Meyersdale; 10 great-grandchildren, Ethan and Isabelle Ringler, Carter, Bennett and Avery Robeson, Elliot and Hudson Milford, Brady, Gavin and Amelia Bowlen.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy., Salisbury, PA, on Friday, February 10, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the St. Paul Wilhelm Church on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tommy Holliday officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the St. Paul Wilhelm Cemetery.
