Dwayne Edward Wilhelm, 57, of Frostburg, MD, died Thursday, August 5, 2021, at his residence.
Born November 16, 1963, in Meyersdale, PA, he was the son of Alice (Bowman) Smith, Grantsville, MD and Allen Wilhelm and his wife, Cheryl (Yommer), Lonaconing, MD. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger and Aaron Wilhelm; and his step-father, Gerald Smith.
Mr. Wilhelm was a mechanic for the Garrett Co. Roads Department and attended Oak Dale Church, Salisbury, PA. He was a member of the MD Trooper’s Association and past member of Northern Garrett FFA, Grantsville 4-H Club and Garrett County Livestock Association. He received his Associate in Arts degree in Wildlife Management from Garrett College.
Along with his parents and step-mother, he is survived by his companion, Karen McClintock; one son, Justin Wilhelm, Frostburg; three daughters, Brittany (James) Savage and Megan (Derek) Harding, all of Friendsville, MD; Heather Baer, Finzel, MD; two sisters, Karen (Scott) Smith, Grantsville; Kelli Wilhelm, Lonaconing; nine grandchildren, Chasidy Savage, Caylee Savage, Mason Harding, Kinsley Baer, Lucy Baer, Owen Moreland, Jaden, Michael and Allie Araiza; and one niece, Kaitlyn Smith.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, August 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Joe Byler officiating. Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery.
