Obituary for Dortha Eileen Bowser (Miller)

Dortha Eileen Bowser, 88, of Accident, MD, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.

Born May 31, 1933, in Grantsville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Carl Everett and Carrie Margaret (Camp) Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Luther Bowser, in 2020, a daughter, Debra Lynn Bowser; three sisters, Lavern Turney, Margaret Griffith and Pauline Georg.

Dortha worked as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, working in the Accident and Bittinger Post Offices. She was also employed at Fratz Red & White Grocery Store, Accident. She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church, Accident, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid, she was also a member of the Accident Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare-time she enjoyed to sew.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon K. (Phil) Frantz, Friendsville, MD, Diane C. (Mark) Williams, Ellerslie, MD and Terri L. Stonesifer and fiancé, Rick Broadwater, Swanton, MD; two brothers, Wilmer Miller, LaVale, MD and Paul Miller, Keyser, WV; two sisters, Ann Wengerd, Meringo, IA and Mary Aronhalt, Grantsville; five grandchildren, Corey (companion, Kirsten) Stonesifer; Trevor (Amber) Stonesifer; Daniel Williams; Kayla (fiancé, Chris Arkins) Williams; Michael (Scarlett) Frantz; eight great-grandchildren, Trenton Stonesifer, Hayden Stonesifer, David Tressler, Laila Stonesifer, Alena Stonesifer, Will Frantz, Bo Frantz and Morgan Frantz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, MD 21536, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services will be conducted at Zion Lutheran Church on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Benjamin Hertel officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
