Obituary for Doris Louise McKenzie (McKenzie)
Doris Louise McKenzie, 87, of Frostburg, MD, died Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, MD.
Born February 26, 1935, in Garrett Co., MD, she was the daughter of the late Harold Lee and Velma Louise (Wilson) McKenzie, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, David Lawrence McKenzie, on February 8, 2015; one grandson, Rhyan Dane McKenzie; one sister, Norma Lee Moyer Keller; two sons-in-law, Doug Klotz and William Fratz and one brother.
Mrs. McKenzie worked in housekeeping for Frostburg State University, retiring after 32 years of services. She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church and enjoyed genealogy and crocheting.
She is survived by one son, Rodney (friend, Brenda Oester) McKenzie; two daughters, Bonnie Klotz and Barbara Fratz; two brothers and one sister; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 12-2 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. James Oester officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Frostburg, MD.
