Obituary for Donald Eugene Rodeheaver Jr.
Donald Eugene Rodeheaver, Jr., 63, of Hoyes, MD, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland, MD, surrounded by his wife and girls.
Born November 26, 1958, in Oakland, he was the son of Ruth J. (Uphold) Wilson and the late Donald Eugene Rodeheaver, Sr. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Gary W. Rodeheaver.
Donnie was the owner and operator of Don Rodeheaver Repair in Grantsville, MD, for 18 years and prior to that he was a mechanic, truck driver and coal miner.
He enjoyed showing cattle with his grandchildren, hunting, and camping, but most of all he loved farming. Donnie will be remembered for his strength, hard work ethic, honesty and his love of his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sharon A. (Bishoff) Rodeheaver; three daughters, Dixie A. Ashby (Leonard C. Custer), Morgan B. Edwards and Randi R. Glotfelty (Jeremy N. Gregory); nine grandchildren, Justin T. Ashby (Spring Vasey), Jeremy J. Ashby, Tanner C. Edwards, Kane R. Edwards, Peyton G. Edwards, Braxton D. Glotfelty, Addalyne J. Gregory, Asher R. Gregory and Alden C. Gregory; extended family, Brock R. Glotfelty and Becca L. Flanagan; one sister, Sue E. Myers (Mike) and one brother, Tim L. Rodeheaver (Jerri).
Donnie’s wishes were to be cremated and taken to the Knob. A memorial service will be held in the spring for family and friends.
Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
