David Eugene Yutzy, 64, of Pocahontas, PA, passed from this life into eternity on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at his home. He fought a courageous battle against renal cell cancer for more than twelve years.
David was a 1975 graduate of Meyersdale Area High School and worked for several trucking companies in the area. He also spent time farming during all seasons of the year, especially during sugar season on Wright’s Farm, Greenville Township.
David was born December 14, 1957, in Meyersdale, the son of the late Leonard and Kathleen (Deal) Yutzy. He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Douglas Garlitz and in-laws, Ellsworth and Janie Yoder.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Amy (Yoder) Yutzy and two sons, Shane and Scott. He enjoyed raising his two boys, passing on to them his love for hunting and fishing with friends and family. He is also survived by his sister, Linda (Cecil) Garlitz, brother, Joe (Sherrie) Yutzy, brother-in-law, Rick (Deanna) Yoder, sister-in-law, Becky (Mike) Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews who were a very important part of his life.
David was a member of the Greenville Evangelical Lutheran Church and attended Hostetler Church of the Brethren. He was also a member of several local hunting clubs. Though seemingly a man of few words, David was always up for a good conversation and was a loyal friend to many.
