Obituary for Cora Anna Yoder (Yoder)

Cora Anna Yoder, 90, of Springs, PA, passed away peacefully Friday, October 7, 2022, at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland, MD, surrounded by her loving family.

Born January 18, 1932, near Grantsville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Alvin H. and Martha (Maust) Yoder. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Brandon Yoder; three sisters, Ruth Tice, Ellen Yoder and Mary Opel; one brother, Clark Yoder.

Cora Anna accepted Christ as her Savior in her youth and joined the Maple Glen Mennonite Church, where she was a lifelong member. She graduated from Baltimore City Hospital School of Nursing and worked as an LPN at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Marvin J. Yoder; beloved mother to five children, Eldon (Olga) Yoder, Burtonsville, MD; Brenda (John) Sapp, Felton, DE; Mark Yoder and Kevin (Shelly) Yoder, all of Springs; Diane (Steve) Byler, Nathalie, VA; five siblings, Kenneth Yoder, Roman Yoder, Ezra Yoder, Mark Yoder and James Yoder; loving grandmother of 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Monday, October 10, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Maple Glen Mennonite Church on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Phil Moser officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be held in the Maple Glen Cemetery.
