Obituary for Carol Eileen Miller (Oester)
Carol Eileen (Oester) Miller, 79, of Grantsville, MD, died Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland, MD.
Born November 29, 1943, in Meyersdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Adam J. and E. Hazel (Miller) Oester. She was also preceded in death by son-in-law, Paul D. Winter; two brothers, William Oester and Robert Oester; one sister, Marjorie Kretlow.
Mrs. Miller was a bank manager retiring from M & T Bank after 40 years of service. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, LaVale, MD and formerly of St. John’s Lutheran Church, ELCA, Cove, Accident, MD. Carol loved gardening, working her flower beds and spending time with her grandchildren. Carol and Wilmer enjoyed traveling and dancing together.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Wilmer Clay Miller; one daughter, Robin Winter, Grantsville; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lowdermilk and Lincoln (Ashley) Lowdermilk; two great-grandchildren, Reed Lowdermilk and Lela Lowdermilk.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Swanson officiating. Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery.
