Obituary for Brenda K. Haning (Mull)

Brenda K. Haning, 70, formerly of Salisbury, PA, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, MD.

Born August 2, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Fay and Florence Maxine (Menhorn) Mull. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Allen Wayne Mull,
Sidney G. Mull, Sr., and Donald R. Mull.

In her early years, for many years, Brenda sold Avon and was a homemaker, who enjoyed caring for her grandchildren. Brenda loved animals and doing chores that most people don’t like to do, such as dishes, hand scrubbing the floor and laundry, which almost always concluded with the clothes being hung out on the line. Although being diagnosed with MS took away her mobility, Brenda continued to be the best grandmother and friend that she could be. It was very rare to hear her talk about the pain that she may have been in, even in her last few years. She always made sure to send each great-grandchild a card for the holidays and always had new artwork for them to take home. She was a member of the St. Paul Wilhelm Church.

She is survived by her husband, Freeman B. Haning; two sons, Ronald (Jennifer) Haning; Jason Haning; three grandchildren, Tiffany (Steve) Beal, Morgan (Eli) Matosich and Scott (Brittany) Haning; seven great-grandchildren, Abbey Beal, Karleigh Beal, Eli Matosich, Bryn Matosich, Emelie Matosich, Ryleigh Haning and Briella Haning; one sister, Joyce McGhee; her close friends, Susie Reckner and Mary Bittinger, who was also her caregiver.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy., Salisbury, on Monday, April 3, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Holliday officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Salisbury Cemetery.

The family wishes to express their gratefulness to the staff at Goodwill Mennonite Home for their kindness and care of Brenda during her last year.
