Obituary for Brage Alan Friend
Brage Alan Friend, 28, of Oakland, MD, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at his home.
Born July 30, 1994, in Oakland, he was the son of Shawn Alan Friend and the late Dionne Marie Polce.
Brage loved working on computers, this led into a career in information technology. He had been employed by Garrett Regional Medical Center in IT for four years. He also worked for Chris McRobie Construction as well as Clearwater Services. He loved going on beach trips to Pawleys Island, SC. In his spare-time he enjoyed riding dirt bikes and snow skiing.
In addition to his father he is survived by a brother, Aaron T. Friend, Mt. Lake Park, MD; paternal grandparents, Lorraine McRobie (Chris), Oakland, with whom he resided; David Friend (Loretta) Swanton, MD; maternal grandmother, Edith Polce, McHenry, MD; Uncles, Scott Friend (Connie), McHenry; Frank Polce (Kelly), Armondo Polce (Becca) and Fheo Polce; an aunt, Deana Baker (Shawn), McHenry; a great aunt, Jan Simms (Jim), Oakland.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, MD 21550, on Monday, February 6, 2023 from 4:00-6:00p.m. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Carroll Harvey officiating. At Brage’s request he was cremated.
