Alma Dorothy Rausch Cosner, 68, of Sang Run, MD, ran into her loving Savior’s arms on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born on July 13, 1954, in Delhi, NY, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Eloise (Vibbard) and Douglas Bennett Rausch, a World War II veteran. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jemmie
Jean Moats; daughter, Darlene (Cosner) Alexander; and son, Brett Cosner.
Alma worked as a CNA at Dennett Road Nursing Home for over twenty years and then worked in hospitality at Comfort Inn in McHenry, MD for fifteen years. She was a loving wife and mother who was a member of Calvary Tabernacle in Accident, MD. She was an avid bird watcher and loved to watch wildlife, especially her one-eared squirrel, from her picture window. She had amazing way with words, writing poems, and even had one published in 2007. Alma loved her family, playing cards, doing puzzles, and watching WWE on Monday and Friday nights.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Paul William Cosner, Jr.; seven sons, David Cosner & Margaret, Oakland; Randy Cosner, Oakland; Tim Cosner & Regina, McHenry; Robert E. Moats, Jr. & Danielle, Madison, OH; Tarry Cosner, McHenry; Jerry Cosner & Jen, Accident; John Cosner & Cheyanne, McHenry; two daughters, Mary Tolari & Gino, Indiana; Dottie O’Lear, Greensburg, PA; one brother, Miles Rausch; three sisters, Lizetta, Henrietta, and Nora; twenty-nine grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Calvary Tabernacle, 27893 Garrett Highway, Accident, MD 21520, on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, from 4:00pm-8:00pm and Wednesday, April 26, 2023, from 10:00am-1:00pm. A service will be held at the church on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 1:00pm with Pastor Pascal Crites officiating. Interment will be at the lower Sang Run Cemetery in McHenry.
